- Root of Grudges photo — Carried from Level 4 (mandatory).
- Ritual rope — Inside the safelocker in the Shelf With Dials room; code from TVs.
- Ritual lighter — Random room spawn behind closets/tables; never inside drawers.
- Plate — Same spawn rules as lighter; search methodically per floor wing.
- Ofuda from box — Standard box hunt after ritual prep or interleaved depending on spawn.
Missing any ritual piece soft-locks the burn sequence until found. Use party poppers during locker entry if PETAPETA hunts mid-code.
TV Codes and the Ritual Rope Locker
Level 5 replaces corner papers with televisions in scattered rooms. Stand near a TV until its screen lights up — the code displays briefly and copies to your HUD top-left.
Critical TV code facts:
- First code often fails — You may need two or more TVs before the Shelf With Dials locker accepts input.
- Codes are run-unique; never paste from Discord lists.
- Enter locker digits when PETAPETA is despawned or stunned — dial interactions lock you in place.
Inside the locker, retrieve the ritual rope. Mark the Shelf With Dials room location for return trips if you lack lighter or plate afterward.

Ritual Room Sequence
Locate the Ritual Room — analogous to Level 4's Doll Room but with wooden pillars and floor space for props. With all items:
- Equip and place the plate on the floor marker.
- Place the Root of Grudges photo on its designated spot.
- Tie the ritual rope around the four wooden pillars in sequence (interaction prompts appear when close).
- Use the lighter to burn the photograph — this triggers ritual completion cutaway.
PETAPETA remains active during the ritual segment. Use wardrobes inside the ritual room when screens redden; stepping out mid-burn resets progress on some patches.
After burning, finish standard objectives: box, ofuda, hallway exorcism. Level 5 patrols feel longest here — poppers and onigiri are strongly recommended for first clears.
Navigation and Speed Strategies
Level 5 layout is more maze-like than prior floors. Landmarks help:
- TV rooms often have faint electronic hum — audio guides search.
- Shelf With Dials room name appears in internal room labels when proximity triggers.
- Spray paint arrows from stair landings reduce backtracking during multi-TV hunts.
Speedrunners prioritize TV sweeps on one floor before descending to avoid stair hunt traps. Casual players should fully clear wings systematically — missing one lighter spawn causes frustrating re-patrol loops.
Surviving Level 5 means accepting failed first codes calmly. Rage sprinting after a rejected locker combo is how PETAPETA catches players with empty stamina bars.
