Story Ofuda from Boxes
Main progression ofuda spawn inside locked boxes after floor objectives. They occupy hotbar slots like keys and must be placed on green hallway tiles. Without box ofuda, exorcism cannot complete — shop extras cannot replace missing story charms on standard floors.
Placement and Power
Ofuda power is positional, not stat-based — green tile placement plus successful bait triggers exorcism. Standing behind charm matters more than item rarity.
Chapter 2 seal arrays may require multiple ofuda-like items in sequence — follow HUD numbering.
Shop Variants
Cosmetic ofuda skins change paper appearance only on supported patches. Read item descriptions before spending Robux expecting gameplay skips.
Some events grant themed ofuda trails during exorcism VFX — pure flair.
Transfiguration Ofuda (July 17, 2026)
Omochi Studio added Transfiguration Ofuda to the lobby shop in the July 17, 2026 update alongside a limited-time mission event:
- Effect — Place on hallway floor like standard ofuda; when PETAPETA steps on it during patrol, the spirit transforms into a helpless plush instead of triggering a kill.
- Use case — Buys calm seconds to finish safe dials, ritual staging, or child-rescue searches on Level 9+ without entering wardrobes.
- Not a skip — Story floors still require box ofuda exorcism to clear; Transfiguration is a consumable shop tool, not a replacement charm.
- Level 6 — Chase segments may still forbid or devalue freeze tools — verify HUD before relying on plush transformation.
Pair with party poppers on Level 5 for stacked crowd-control, but budget Zeni — plush ofuda does not farm itself on failed runs.
Relation to Ritual Items
Do not confuse ofuda with Level 5 ritual props (plate, photo, rope, lighter). Ritual items solve mid-floor puzzles; ofuda finishes floor after box opens.
